Most Bald By Choice Prefer Razor

According to the non scientific poll here most of Bald By Choice guys use a blade to keep smooth.

There were a total of 38 votes.

26 or 68% use a razor
7 or 18% use an electric razor
5 or 13% tweeze

I did find it interesting that nobody uses a depilatory cream of some sort.

A Day Without Shaving

Thursday I woke up late for work. I did not shave my head as to save some time. The head was still nice and smooth and I did not think that it would hurt if I waited till after work to give the dome a good scrape.

Well fast forward to after work, and I was just to busy to shave. Figured that I would do it before bed.

After being busy all day I was exhausted and just went to bed without shaving. Well, when I woke up on Friday morning my head was all stubble and itched like hell. I could not wait to get into the shower and shave it smooth.

I am now smooth again, and will be shaving on a daily basis as not to have that itchy problem again.

Guess I am a Bald By Choice Man after all.

Telly and Me

I have told you in the last post that Telly Savalis was the 1st person with a Bald head that I thought was great. Well tonight while I was out doing my 4 miles walking, I bumped into a buddy of mine that was out with his wife walking. My pal asked what was with the shaved head, and I just told him I wanted to do something different. Well, his wife said that she loved it, and It made me look like Telly Savalis.

I just said to her thanks and "Who Loves Ya".

Who Loves YA

I have been examining my interest in being Bald By Choice, I can always remember the desire to be Bald By Choice. When I was a kid there was MR. Clean. Yul Brenner in the King and I, and the Ten Commandments. Daddy Warbucks in Annie.

However, the one that really exuded the Bald By Choice look was Telly Savalis in KOJAK.

Kojak was what being cool was, and his Bald head was just so intriguing to me. He was what I wanted to be. Not only was he the best detective that New York had, he had the best look that I could imagine. When he would utter the phrase "Who Loves YA, I could imagine myself being KOJAK and saying those words.

So thanks to all of those great bald men of the past, I am now a Bald By Choice man.

Seems Natural to ME

It is just shy of two weeks now that I have been Bald By Choice and I have gotten to a point where it seems natural to me not to have hair on my head.

Since the hack job of last week I have been using an electric razor two to three times a day to keep the head smooth.

The head has healed nice and tomorrow I will use the Mach 3 again. There is a difference with a blade and an electric.

Color and Shine

I am amazed how fast my head has gotten color. A little over a week and there is almost no difference between the face and the scalp. In another week you would never know that I had hair covering the scalp.

The thing that really is wild is how my head shines. I don't put anything on it and it has such a great shine. The brighter the better.

Reactions

I just can't believe that positive reaction that I have received about my Bald by Choice look. Tonight I was talking on the phone with a buddy of mine that has been BBC for many years. When I told him that I had HIS haircut, he congratulated me on the best haircut I could have.

Last night I was out with some people that I have not seen in years, and they thought the look was great.

I am having just the best of time with the new look. I plan on being Bald By Choice for a LONG while.

One Week Bald By Choice

It has now been a week that I have gone Bald By Choice. I can't belive the aprehention that I had about going Bald By Choice. I just love it. The BBC look is much more accepted than I thought.

I have healed over for the most part from the nicks that I got from the Bic razor. I just shaved and am as smooth as silk.

It rained like hell here today and the rain just rolled off my head. There was no grass to hold it. What a strange senation.

Now that I am Bald By Choice, I plan to stay Bald By Choice.

Changes in weather.

It is amazing how the changes in weather can be felt on a bald head. Wednesday it was 91 degrees here in Boston. Today the high was 55. On Wednesday I could feel the warmth of the sun on my head. Tonight it was 45 degrees and misty out and the cold misty sensation on the bald pate was very different.

It is really amazing how going from a #1 buzz to a shaved head can be so different. Just a little hair on the top of the head makes such a big difference.

I can't wait for the 1st time a big dollop of rain hits the bald pate.

BBC much more accepted these days.

I am surprised how much the Bald By Choice look is accepted today. In the past when I have gone Bald By Choice the reaction was mixed. It seems that these days the Bald By Choice look is not as big of a deal that it once was.

The reaction has been mostly positive and the reviews have been great. I am so glad that I decided to go Bald By Choice, I am loving it and will keep the look for a while.

The Winds Of Change

It is just amazing how a change such as shaving ones head can be. Tonight I was out with some friends having coffee. It being unseasonably mid here in the Boston area, the shop was a little warm. The person working in the coffee shop put on one of those large commercial fans, which was blowing in my direction. Well what a simply fantastic sensation it was to have the breeze from the fan just flow over the top of my Bald head. It was something that was worth the cup of coffee. Can't wait for those great Summer Winds to flow over the smooth scalp.

A good razor is a must.

Although I have only been a Bald By Choice Man for just 5 days, I have learned a valuable lesson. Use a good razor. On Monday I used a Bic Comfort 3 Pivot and it hacked up my head something fierce.

I will only use a Gillette Mach 3, or a Schick Xtreme 3 in the future. I have had to use an electric Braun Series 1 to keep the head Bald By Choice. I will be glad when the battle scars are gone and I can go back to a blade. The Braun is good, however it is just not a blade.

My Bald Life

On Friday April 2, 2010 I shaved my head bald. Since I have been a kid I always admired the bald look. I have shaved my head before, but only for a day or so. This time I am committed to keeping the bald look for the foreseeable future.
